I have to say - this was one of the best markets I've been to in a while.
Probably because I had my mom with me and it was a GORGEOUS day {I think I finally got a tan!}
BONUS!!!
Mostly we just LOOKED...
{Antique Turkish rugs and pillows}
Looks like something straight out of Veranda!
{Such an interesting piece! Very chic!}
{Had it been a touch lighter, it would have been perfect for our entryway}
{Loved the lines on these two pieces}
But there were a few treasures that I absolutely couldn't walk away from as hard as I tried.
{Mom can vouch for me on this one. I really did try!}
Not surprising...the antiques won!
They made the trip home with us. I'm sure some of them will find a new home with one of you.
But for now- I'm having fun just admiring them.
First up:
Some fabulously faded Adirondack chairs that will sit perfectly on the deck.
Perfect for sunset watching, wouldn't you say?
Waiting to get loaded up!
Ahhhh....much better!!
Next:
An antique printer drawer that I can't wait to revamp for a jewelry display piece. The earrings are getting out of control in my closet. I bet this will be just the ticket! I'll give you an update as soon as it's done.
I'm envisioning this for its future:
Now on to the smallest of the treasures:
1940's perfume bottles! The possibilities are endless! I'm thinking, for now, fresh sprigs of greenery. If Michael can loan his handy skills, I think they'd even sit perfectly in some Lake Wylie driftwood as a centerpiece.
We didn't stop there:
Lovely fabric with an even lovelier price tag! {$5/yard was the bargain of the day!}
I bought it to recover this antique tufted couch that my mom spotted at an estate sale last weekend.
The peach velvet, although stylish in its day, is making me a little crazy right now :)
I just love the tufting though!
I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Fingers crossed that it looks as good in real life as it does in my mind right now.
Oh...and with pillows made out of this fabric:
DREAMY!
Ok...I've saved the best for last!
Love at first sight for this beauty:
BUT....the best part?
They make a beautiful PAIR!
Truly old pieces of architecture re purposed into two stunning lamps!
Even the finials are showstoppers.
I can't stop staring at them.
Very Aidan Gray...
{Look for them in the shop soon!}
There's just something about a good flea market day
with your mom!
What good treasures have you found lately?
I'd love it if you'd include a link to your blog when you comment.
