Lucite Love

So maybe the Lucite ship has sailed and maybe I'm TERRIBLY late to the "ghost chair" party...
BUT I've only recently become open minded enough to love them.
I really do!
Truthfully, I could never see myself living in a minimalist world with stark decor ; but I kind of like the idea of mixing the starkness of these chairs with the laid-back, rustic style of our lake home.
The mix of the styles keeps things interesting, I think; and much less predictable.  And when mixed with something glamorous or cozy, they end up feeling much less cold.

They are especially practical when decorating a space that needs something
that your eye can just pass right through.
 {Think small office space where you really want the desk to take center stage.}
  Or, in our case, where the lake view should take precedence over furniture.

Here are some examples of Lucite, in my opinion, done right!

Perfection!  These images allow the desk to and decor to take center stage.
The chair is just a gorgeous bonus.

The bad news is the original "Louis Ghost Chair"is $410
{you can see that beauty HERE}

Not quite in my budget.
The good news?
IKEA has similar ones for a fraction of the cost. . . $79!
Not QUITE as lovely - but almost:

{A perfect blend of rustic and glamorous}

Maybe IKEA has saved the day yet again!

Now all I have to do is convince my husband they're not so bad after all.
I may be late to the Lucite party; but I don't think he's even showing up- LIKE EVER!
{fingers crossed}
