This was the most perfectly wonderful Thanksgiving I can remember (my first year officially "hosting") Besides being a little under the weather, everything went beautifully. A crisp fall day, leaves falling from the trees, candles lit, and salmon and steaks on the table. Yep, that's right...no turkey for us this year. Michael and I decided it would be fun to buck the trend and have what we REALLY love! (This could also be because I've never cooked a turkey in my life and quite honestly, the thought scares me just a little). Who knows, we might just start a new family tradition at our house.
Before jumping right into the Christmas decorating frenzy yesterday, we FINALLY finished up some projects that have LONG been waiting in the garage for their debut! I just can't wait for ya'll to see!For starters... see those chairs up there?
They used to look something like this when I found them at Goodwill a few weeks ago:
(They're just begging for their Cinderella moment, right?)
Next we re-covered the cushions in canvas drop cloth (seems to be my fabric of choice lately). But seriously, you just can't beat it ...so durable and has a vintage "grain sack" feel. The best part? Completely budget friendly....you just pick some up at Home Depot when you're getting your paint and away you go. LOVE IT!
Here's a close up "after" shot:
On a sad note, I had to say goodbye to these beauties the moment I fell in love with them. They were sold yesterday. But it makes me happy to know they have found themselves a home on the battery in Charleston. From Goodwill to Rainbow Row....a Cinderella story for SURE!
The woodwork is FANTASTIC!
You can find this one in our shop until it finds a new home!
For now, it sits perfectly beside our bed.

Be back soon with more projects and LOTS of Christmas decorating!
