Ever stumbled upon something that you never knew you always wanted? It happened to me the moment I walked into Restoration Hardware while registering for our wedding. There it was the most gorgeous farmhouse table this southern girl had ever seen! Pretty sure I even dreamed about it. And YES, I did add it to the registry. Shocking, I'm sure :)
Sad to say, it did not arrive at our doorstep along with the wine glasses and Vietri plates. BUT just a few months after the wedding, something better....my hubby made one! Yep, that's right...he was just driving past an old pile of wood one day:
and decided that he could most definitely make THAT look exactly like
THIS!!
True Confession: I didn't believe him! I was mentally gearing up for a lot of encouraging one-liners and positive affirmations, should he realize that it was, in fact, impossible. BUT...after a few late nights in the garage and LONG afternoons spent with the sander, it was ready (even personalized with a sweet little note written on the underside for me.)
Still makes me smile everytime I pass it and reach out my hand to feel its softness just ONE more time.

While I'm making introductions, ya'll just have to meet my incredibly talented man who sees my vision and makes it all somehow seem possible.
