A Tuft Act to Follow

{Forgive the cheesy headline.... just couldn't help it}

So after the last couch that we attempted to beautify and restore (see post HERE), I was SURE there was just no way I could love another addition to our sunroom quite as much.
But after selling the cane couch in our last sale, I was on the hunt for something, ANYTHING to take its place.  A girl can only stare at an empty room for so long!  Not suprisingly,  my resident "picker" (or Mom, as she probably prefers to be called) was at an estate sale and stumbled across this vision of peach velvet:
(the cell phone/instagram picture doesn't quite do it justice but it was DIRRRTY)

Looking past the tears and stains, as soon as I saw the tufting on it, I was sold!

Tufting is such a classic technique that's withstood the test of time and spans all design styles.
From modern, to traditional, shabby-chic to industrial - you'll see it everywhere.
No matter the setting or the style, it always looks incredibly fresh and polished!

That was the goal, at least, for this antique sofa:

I couldn't wait to find the perfect fabric for those tufts!  Just as I was about to splurge at my favorite fabric store, I found this gorgeous grey yardage at the flea market for $5.00/yard!
SCORE!
So off to the upholsterer it went...

In the meantime, I knew just the fabric for the pillows.  That part was a breeze as I recently fell in love with a combination that one of my clients and I picked out together:

This beauty caught my eye immediately!

Paired with a few choice accents:

After waiting (not so patiently) for a few weeks, the couch came back from the upholsterer a few days ago just in time for a photo shoot at our home on Sunday.
(All of the pillows aren't finished yet, but you get the idea)

And one more time with the tufting....

Ok...I'm done with the picture overload.
promise :)

Link up some of your latest projects...I'd love to see!
